SRINAGAR

I live in Srinagar, a city of breathtaking beauty—snow-capped mountains reflecting off Dal Lake, the sound of prayers echoing from mosques at dawn, and the fragrance of saffron and cedar carried on the cool air. Yet beneath the beauty, there is pain—a quiet tension that lingers in our streets, where faith and fear often meet.

This city, the heart of Jammu and Kashmir, is filled with deep devotion. People here seek God with sincerity, yet so many have not heard of the One who came down from heaven to bring lasting peace. I walk along the Jhelum River and pray that the Prince of Peace would move upon every home, every heart, every mountain village that has yet to know His name.

Srinagar’s people are resilient and kind, but we carry wounds—decades of conflict, mistrust, and division. Sometimes, it feels like the city is holding its breath, waiting for healing to come. I believe Jesus is that healing. I believe He can turn the cries of this land into songs of joy.

Each day, I ask the Lord to make me a light—to love boldly, to pray deeply, and to walk humbly among my neighbors. My hope is not in politics or power, but in the God who sees this valley and has not forgotten it. I long to see Srinagar transformed—not just known for its beauty, but for hearts awakened to the glory and peace of Christ, the One who makes all things new.
