I live in Bhopal, the capital of Madhya Pradesh, right in the heart of India. Our city isn’t the largest, but it carries a deep spiritual weight. Rising above the skyline is the Taj-ul-Masjid, the largest mosque in India. Every year, thousands of Muslims gather here for a three-day pilgrimage, and the sound of prayers over loudspeakers fills the air. Each time I hear them, I’m reminded of how deeply people are searching—for peace, for truth, for the God who truly hears.
India is vast and breathtakingly diverse—hundreds of languages, countless traditions, and a history filled with both beauty and brokenness. Yet the fractures between caste, religion, and class still cut deep. Here in Bhopal, I see those divisions in the faces of neighbors who long to belong, in families burdened by poverty, and in hearts weighed down by hopelessness.
What breaks my heart most are the children. India has more abandoned little ones than any other nation—over 30 million. Even in my own city, I see them sleeping on train platforms, scavenging for food, and wandering alone through busy streets. When I look into their eyes, I hear Jesus whisper, “Let the little children come to Me.”
This is the hope that keeps me here. That in a city filled with devotion but desperate for truth, the voice of Jesus will be heard—calling the lost, comforting the forgotten, and breaking through the noise. I believe that one day, His love will echo louder than any call to prayer, and the Church in Bhopal will rise as His hands and heart to a city longing for redemption.
Pray for the people of Bhopal to encounter the peace and truth found only in Jesus Christ. (John 14:6)
Pray for the millions of orphaned and abandoned children across India to find love, family, and belonging in God’s Kingdom. (Psalm 68:5–6)
Pray for unity and courage in the Church to cross divides of caste, religion, and class with the love of Christ. (Galatians 3:28)
Pray for a powerful move of the Holy Spirit among the Muslim population in Bhopal, revealing Jesus through dreams and relationships. (Acts 2:17)
Pray for Bhopal to become a beacon of hope—where prayer, compassion, and the Gospel transform every corner of the city. (Isaiah 60:1–3)
